‘₹1,600 cr. earmarked for inoculation drive’

Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kannababu on Sunday stated that the State authorities was able to spend ₹1600 crore, the estimated quantity required to buy COVID-19 vaccines to finish the inoculation drive throughout the State.
In a media convention held at his residence on Sunday, Mr. Kannababu dared TDP nartional president N. Chandrababu Naidu to take the initiation to foyer with the Bharat Biotech group to provide the required vaccines to the State authorities, as a substitute of campaigning towards the drive.
“The State government has sought 4 lakh doses of vaccines from the Centre and earmarked ₹1,600 crore for the inoculation drive. However, the pharma companies are citing their inability to cater to the demand on time,” stated Mr. Kannababu.
The Agriculture Minister stated that the federal government had determined to accord a precedence of administering the second dose of vaccine to those that had acquired the primary dose. He stated that the federal government had set a file of vaccinating 6 lakh folks in a day, with the help of the Secretariat system.
