3 TV journalists booked in U.P. for showing students ‘shivering in cold’ during government function

Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur Dehat district have booked three tv journalists on costs of airing a “baseless” information report of kids of a government college “shivering in cold” in knickers and cotton shirts during a drill at a public function on January 24.

The occasion was a part of a government function held on the Eco Park in Kanpur Dehat on the event of U.P. Foundation Day. Minister for Technology Ajit Singh Pal, MLAs and officers had been current.

The FIR was lodged on the Akbarpur police station on a grievance of Sunil Dutt, district primary training officer.

Mr. Dutt accused the three journalists of publishing “baseless and misleading” experiences and movies that pupils had been made to “shiver in cold” whereas performing drills and yoga.

The three, working for a neighborhood TV channel, have been recognized as Mohit Kashyap, Amit Singh and Yaseen Ali.

The FIR accused the journalists of projecting that the officers had been busy whereas the youngsters shivered in chilly.

In the complainant, Mr. Dutt stated the pupils had been made to take off their winter-wear solely whereas performing yoga and train, and that after that they wore again their heat garments. Yoga and bodily train couldn’t be carried out in winter fabric and required free clothes, he identified.

Kanpur Dehat District Magistrate Dinesh Chandra Singh stated, “I am pained that some journalists who were not even present here have circulated such information that the pupils were shivering in the cold.”
