Jyotiraditya Scindia takes charge as Minister of Civil Aviation

Newly inducted Union Cabinet Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday took charge of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

He was accompanied by Gen (Retd) VK Singh, who assumed the charge as the Minister of State for Civil Aviation from his predecessor Hardeep Puri.

Mr. Scindia is the second Cabinet Minister to carry the charge of the Ministry of Civil Aviation since 2014 after Ashok Gajapathi Raju.

Mr. Scindia has taken over the charge of the ministry at a time when the civil aviation sector is dealing with robust headwinds as a result of coronavirus pandemic which has impacted general demand and has additionally resulted in monetary woes for the trade gamers.
