Chennai’s total tally inches nearer to 2 lakh infections; 32 districts account for lower than 100 cases every.
With 690 fresh cases, Chennai’s total tally moved nearer to the 2 lakh-mark on Saturday. The metropolis recorded 12 of the 31 deaths reported within the State, accounting for a complete of three,651.
As the State reported 2,511 fresh cases, the variety of districts accounting for lower than 100 cases every stood at 32. Both Erode and Tiruppur — which had been recording over 100 cases every — noticed a small decline, with 79 and 91 cases respectively. In Coimbatore, 241 individuals examined optimistic, whereas there have been 148 cases in Chengalpattu, 145 in Salem and 133 in Tiruvallur.

With the fresh cases, a complete of 1,99,916 individuals have examined optimistic in Chennai. Of these, 7,191 have been lively cases, whereas 1,89,074 individuals have been discharged.
Coimbatore had a complete of 43,252 cases and Chengalpattu 43,654 cases.
A complete of three,848 individuals, together with 794 in Chennai, 605 in Coimbatore and 225 in Chengalpattu, have been discharged. So far, 6,91,236 individuals have been discharged within the State. The total case depend stood at 7,24,522. As many as 22,164 individuals have been below therapy. The toll rose to 11,122.
31 fatalities
Of the 31 fatalities, 17 individuals died at non-public hospitals. All of them had co-morbidities. Among them was a 40-year-old lady from Chennai who had diabetes and systemic hypertension. She was admitted to a personal hospital on October 29 with complaints of problem in respiratory for seven days. She died the following day owing to COVID-19 pneumonia.
A complete of 70,767 samples have been examined within the final 24 hours. This took the whole variety of samples examined to 99,56,210.
