The Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (AP – SECM) introduced Andhra Pradesh Energy Conservation Awards-2020 on the event of National Energy Conservation Week in December.
Energy Secretary N. Srikant stated in a press launch that the awards had been supposed to encourage and recognise endeavours of trade, buildings and municipal sectors in decreasing energy consumption, and to showcase the State’s achievements on energy effectivity and energy conservation fronts.
He acknowledged that A.P. focused a saving of 15,000 Million Units (MU) of energy in numerous sectors in the approaching years.
The trade sector alone has efficiently saved 2,386 MU of energy by implementing energy effectivity measures below the PAT scheme with assist of Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
In view of this, the State government has determined to take ahead the energy effectivity motion on a mission mode, for which it has instituted the above awards.
As a part of the method, a State-level energy awards competitors can be held in December.
According to SECM CEO A. Chandra Sekhar Reddy, the help of National Productivity Council has been sought to set up the awards competitors.
