Central team visits Udupi to assess flood damage

A team of the Central authorities on Monday visited flood-affected areas in Udupi district and assessed damages to crop and property.
The team visited Pass Kudru space close to Shivalli in Udupi taluk and later went to Baje dam which provides ingesting water to Udupi metropolis. It assessed the damages to the dam, its top, and storage ranges.
Members of the team visited Manayi village beneath Bommarabettu Gram Panchayat the place three homes had been destroyed fully. Deputy Commissioner G. Jagadeesha informed the team that the district acquired 1,022 mm rainfall in September in opposition to the traditional rainfall of 405 mm. It was extra by 152%.
Udupi district recorded 263 mm rainfall within the first fortnight of October in opposition to the traditional rainfall of 40 mm for the interval. It was in extra by 553%, he stated.
