Narasimha, a Padma Vibhushan awardee, died at a non-public hospital in Bengaluru on Monday. He was 87.

Narasimha made a mark within the area of aerospace engineering and as a fluid dynamicist. He taught aerospace engineering on the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) from 1962 to 1999. He additionally served because the director of the National Aerospace Laboratories from 1984 to 1993.
He was the chairperson of the Engineering Mechanics unit on the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) in Bengaluru from 2000 to 2014.
