In a first-of-its-kind, students of KLE Technological University (KLETU) have developed a humanoid robotic, particularly aimed toward extending a serving to hand to banking customers.
Named Maya, the humanoid robotic has been developed by students of Automation and Robotics of KLETU Prithiv Deshpande and Alwin M., together with analysis assistants Abhijit Sampthkrishna and Kartik Lakamanhalli below the steerage of Assistant Professors Ashwini G.K. and Sridhar Doddamani and Head of the Department Professor Arun Giriyapur.
The students instructed presspersons in Hubballi on Friday that based mostly on the requirement of the financial institution, which had approached them for a robotic platform, they’d developed the humanoid robotic which will be deployed on any flat floor.
“The bank has the software ready but wanted us to develop a robotic platform. Under the sponsored project we have developed Maya which will help address customer needs. When it experiences power shortage, it goes to the charging point and charges the battery on its own,” they defined.
The robotic has been developed to offer higher customer support in banks. The robotic has chatbot, face recognition, automated docking after discharge and laptop programmes powered by synthetic intelligence which may imitate conversations akin to a human utilizing completely different regional languages.
Developed below a sponsored undertaking at a complete price of ₹ 5 lakh, Maya weighs 15 kg with battery backup of eight-10 hours with the aptitude of deciphering numerous queries. It took practically eight months of labor for the crew to get Maya prepared.
The crew members stated that there’s nonetheless scope for additional improvement and based mostly on response from customers on the humanoid robotic’s functioning, additional additions or enhancements will be executed. According to Prof. Arun Giriyapur, constructive response from customers can result in additional deployment of humanoid robots in numerous areas.
The crew members stated that the essential algorithm of the humanoid robotic was developed by them and so they have prevented difficult mechanism to make it easy.
