“As on 31.12.2019, CBI had 711 number of regular cases pending investigation for over a year; whereas, the figure of such cases as on 31.12.2020 was 588,” Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh mentioned in a written reply to a query within the Rajya Sabha.
There have been six such cases towards political individuals in 2020, in accordance with the reply.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probes advanced and voluminous cases towards public servants, corporations, banks, non-public individuals, which at occasions pertain to very outdated transactions or incidents, the minister mentioned.
