The Income Tax (I-T) Department on Thursday carried out simultaneous searches at a number of properties belonging to senior DMK chief and former Minister for Food E.V. Velu.
The searches started at the same time as DMK president M.K. Stalin was canvassing votes for Mr. Velu, who has been fielded within the Tiruvannamalai Assembly constituency.
According to I-T Department officers, searches had been carried out at round 10 areas, together with in Chennai and Tiruvannamalai, based mostly on an enter that the Department acquired.
