Two individuals travelling by a car suffered accidents when a wild tusker hit their car close to Kote-Koppa on Attigere-Sakharayapatna Road in Kadur taluk on Thursday evening.
Bharath, 26, and Sharath, 25, have been admitted to Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences in Hassan. They have been travelling in direction of their village of Belachenahalli by car after they encountered the tusker round 10.15 p.m. The animal pushed the car with its trunk and moved forward as the car turned over.
N.H. Jagannath, Deputy Conservator of Forests, informed Puucho News that the incident occurred close to Kamenahalli State Forest space. “We got to know that two elephants were crossing the road, when the car passed by. The one behind attacked the car. It seems the elephant was disturbed by the headlights”, he mentioned.
The officer mentioned a gaggle of eight elephants has been transferring across the space. A response crew had been despatched to the spot.
Bharat, who was driving the car, suffered critical accidents. Sharat, who was on the entrance seat, was in shock. Both have been admitted to HIMS, L. Swathi, RFO of Kadur, mentioned.
