5-member Congress panel submits report to Sonia Gandhi on losses in just-concluded Assembly polls

A five-member Congress panel on Tuesday submitted its evaluation on the get together’s losses in the just-concluded meeting elections to get together chief Sonia Gandhi, and put ahead a number of suggestions and solutions to strengthen the organisation.

Former Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan who heads the group mentioned he had submitted the report on the get together’s efficiency in Kerala, Assam and Puducherry and that the evaluation for West Bengal was underway.

“We have submitted our report on poll losses in Assam, Puducherry and Kerala and have given our suggestions and recommendations,” Mr. Chavan informed PTI.

He added that the report on West Bengal is being ready and discussions with get together leaders are nonetheless going on.

Besides Mr. Chavan, the group has Salman Khurshid, Manish Tewari, Vincent H. Pala and Jothi Mani.

The Congress had arrange the five-member group to consider the get together’s efficiency in meeting polls in Kerala, Assam, West Bengal and Puducherry.

Sonia Gandhi had mentioned on the Congress Working Committee (CWC) assembly final month that the group would have a look at each side of current electoral reverses and are available again with its findings.

“These will yield uncomfortable classes, but when we don’t face up to the fact, if we don’t look the details in the face, we won’t draw the suitable classes,” she had mentioned.

The Congress failed to win a single seat in West Bengal, whereas its performances in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry have been beneath par because it failed to seize energy in these states.

The Left Democratic Front and the BJP retained energy in Kerala and Assam respectively.
