The Chennai Corporation has directed homeowners of marriage halls, motels and group halls and temple authorities to register all marriage features within the portal http://covid19.chennaicorporation.gov.in/covid/marriage_hall/ as a part of COVID-19 prevention measures.
A gathering was chaired by Commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi with homeowners of marriage halls, motels and group halls and temple authorities on the Ripon Buildings on Wednesday, through which City Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal too took half.
The Corporation, citing the relaxations allowed for marriages to be held with 50 visitors, has instructed function organisers to strictly observe the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of obligatory sporting of face masks, sustaining bodily distancing and putting in sanitisers on the entrances of marriage halls.
The Commissioner directed all function organisers to compulsorily file the small print of the wedding and strictly observe SOPs. He additionally identified that based mostly on the small print filed within the portal, income officers would make shock visits to examine compliance to SOPs and in case of failure in adhering to norms, instances could be filed towards the organisers by the civic physique beneath the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
