The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Friday carried out searches at the office of Exhibition Society at Nampally.
It was mentioned the search was performed on fees of irregularities in allotment of retailers through the annual All India Industrial Exhibition on the sprawling campus and misappropriation of funds.
The workforce questioned office bearers of the society and employees on transactions and verified information.
The search assumed significance within the context of expelled TRS minister Eatala Rajender holding the office of president of the society for six years. He resigned after expulsion from the Cabinet.
However, the society office bearers instructed the media that Mr. Rajender episode has nothing to do with the searches. They denied any irregularities in transactions as all actions of the society have been clear. Its accounts have been audited yearly. All the information are being proven to ACB officers.
This was the primary time within the historical past of the over 80- yr outdated society that an ACB raid was performed on its premises.
