Assam MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi resigns from Congress, set to join BJP

In a jolt to the opposition Congress in Assam, Mariani legislator Rupjyoti Kurmi on Friday resigned from the get together and the meeting, asserting that he’ll join the BJP quickly.
The tea group chief tendered his resignation to Speaker Biswajit Daimary at his meeting workplace right here.
Mr. Kurmi advised reporters that he has tendered his resignation to AICC President Sonia Gandhi.
The four-time MLA stated he’ll join the saffron get together on June 21.
The Congress, in the meantime, expelled Mr. Kurmi from the get together for “his anti-party activities”.
Assam Pradesh Congress President Ripun Bora stated in an announcement that the choice was accredited by the All India Congress Committee.
