Ayyanna Patrudu decries splurging on welfare schemes

Former Minister Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu alleged that the YSR Congress authorities was spending crores of rupees on implementation of welfare schemes at a time, when the funds of the State is in unhealthy form. This can put an enormous burden on taxpayers, he alleged.
In a video message right here on Friday, the TDP chief questioned as to the necessity for the acquisition of 9,260 vans for door supply of rations, spending ₹539 crore, when there have been ration outlets in each panchayat or wards in municipalities and firms. He felt that the general public may go to the outlets and gather their rations from there as they do once they choose up provisions from the final shops.
He alleged that the YSRCP leaders had been looting public cash within the buy of vans. Old vans had been painted to make them move off as new ones. He urged that the State authorities may as a substitute deliver down the costs of important commodities each on the ration outlets and within the open market and supply aid to the customers.
