Bharat bandh | Farmers occupy key roads in Punjab, Haryana

Several teams of farmers on Friday went on dharna on key roads, together with nationwide and State highways, apart from railway tracks at just a few locations, in Punjab and Haryana amid the decision for ‘Bharat bandh’.
The name was given by Samyukta Kisan Morcha, an umbrella physique of farmer unions, which is spearheading the farmers’ ongoing protest towards the Centre’s farm legal guidelines.
Vehicular motion was disrupted in elements of Punjab and Haryana. Public transport, together with buses and taxis, stayed off the roads.
“A complete shutdown has been called from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m,” mentioned Jagmohan Singh, normal secretary, Bhartiya Kisan Union-Ekta (Dakonda).
He mentioned that members of 32 farmer organisations affiliated to the Morcha will maintain dharnas at about 120 locations in Punjab.
