The six-term member of the Lok Sabha, is survived by his spouse, a son and two daughters
Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan, the BJP Lok Sabha member from Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, died at a hospital in Gurugram, household sources stated on Tuesday.
He was 69.
The six-term MP, who was affected by COVID-19 and was airlifted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram final month in a severe situation, breathed his final late Monday evening, the sources stated.
He is survived by his spouse, a son and two daughters, a BJP spokesman stated.
His final rites can be carried out at his ancestral place Shahpur in Burhanpur district on Wednesday, his son Harshvardhan Chauhan stated.
The chief began his political profession in 1978 from the Shahpur Municipal Council and was later elected as member of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.
He was an MLA from 1985 to 1996.
He was elected because the Lok Sabha member for the primary time in 1996 and bought re-elected in 1998, 1999, 2004, 2014 and 2019.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed his anguish on the demise of veteran BJP chief Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan, and stated the previous Madhya Pradesh occasion president can be remembered for his contributions to parliamentary proceedings and organisational abilities.
“Saddened by the demise of Lok Sabha MP from Khandwa Shri Nandkumar Singh Chauhan Ji. He will be remembered for his contributions to parliamentary proceedings, organisational skills and efforts to strengthen the BJP across Madhya Pradesh. Condolences to his family. Om Shanti,” Mr. Modi tweeted.
CM condoles demise
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed grief over the BJP chief’s demise.
In a tweet, the CM stated, “Nandu Bhaiya (as he was popularly known) gave his best to the party as the state BJP president. His mortal remains will reach his ancestral village today. I offer my tributes to him” Former Union minister and senior BJP chief Uma Bharti and state Congress chief Kamal Nath additionally condoled the demise of the parliamentarian.
