Campaign launched topromote electric vehicles

Energy Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy on Thursday launched a ‘Go Electric’ marketing campaign in digital mode for creating consciousness on the advantages of e-Mobility and electric car charging infrastructure.
“The government is giving a big push to electric mobility. It has decided to set up 400 charging stations in the first phase,” mentioned the Minister and insisted that electric vehicles have been a viable different to inner combustion engines by advantage of their decrease operational prices.
The e-Mobility helps scale back emissions and the dependence on the import of fossil fuels from different international locations. The Minister additional mentioned that India was closely dependant on crude oil imports whereas it was combating air air pollution for cleaner and greener future.
Sustainable transport system
“The campaign will address those two challenges by creating awareness among people on the need for adoption of electric mobility and sustainable transport systems,” mentioned Mr. Srinivasa Reddy.
Speaking on the event, Energy Secretary N. Srikant mentioned the federal government was taking constructive measures to advertise electric vehicles and organising charging infrastructure, protecting in view their crucial position in vitality safety and controlling air air pollution.
The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is monitoring the ‘Go Electric’ marketing campaign within the State, in coordination with the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (AP-SECM).
FAME-II scheme
New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation Vice-Chairman S. Ramana Reddy mentioned that MOUs had been signed with the NTPC, Rajasthan Electronics and Industries Limited and different businesses for organising 400 charging stations in 73 areas underneath Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (FAME)-II scheme.
Besides, the NREDCAP is coordinating with Manesar-based International Centre for Automotive Technology for institution of clever testing tracks for vehicles at an estimated price of ₹250 crore.
