Caste row: Boy, parents attacked in Karnataka

A 16-year-old boy belonging to a decrease caste and his parents have been allegedly overwhelmed by villagers when he visited a store to purchase milk at Hoskote on Friday night.
The police have charged 13 individuals underneath the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and in addition for illegal meeting, assault, and felony intimidation. “We have arrested two people, and the other accused are on the run. Efforts are on to track them down,” a police officer stated.
According to the police, the accused Narayanaswamy and others who have been on the store held Pawan by his collar and pushed him onto the bottom. “In his statement, the boy said they asked him how he could dare come to the shop given his caste,” stated the police.
Humiliated, Pawan returned residence crying and narrated the incident to his father Rajappa, a farmer, and his mom Sujatha.
When the parents went to investigate, the accused attacked them with golf equipment and slashed Sujatha’s hand with a chopper when she tried to withstand.
The couple went to the hospital to get their accidents handled earlier than approaching the police.
