Committees set up to implement NEP from this academic year in Karnataka

The State authorities has constituted committees of topic consultants to roll out the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) from the present academic year (2020-21). Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan on Saturday mentioned committees have been set up for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Three committees every have been set up below the college of arts (social sciences, humanities, tremendous arts, and visible arts) and school of sciences (bodily, mathematical sciences, chemical and organic sciences, earth sciences). One has been constituted below the college of commerce and administration and one other below the college of engineering.
Several members who’re a part of the committees advised The Puucho that revamping the curriculum earlier than October when the brand new academic year begins could be a problem. “We do not want to do a cursory reading of the NEP and implement it quickly. Revamping the curriculum in just three months is a difficult task,” the Vice-Chancellor of a State-run college and a member of one of many committees mentioned.
However, Karisiddappa, Vice-Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University, who will head the committee for engineering, mentioned the college had fashioned two job forces, an advisory committee, and board of research for every of the colleges about six months in the past. “As these committees have already had deliberations, it will help us revamp the curriculum quickly.”
