CPI chief requires introspection, says the Congress ought to ‘take genuine secular positions’
Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, for which the Congress and Left events are discussing a attainable electoral alliance, Communist Party of India’s (CPI) common secretary D. Raja mentioned that the Congress would have to be realistic and reasonable.
The Left entrance, led by the Communist Party of India-Marsixt (CPI-M), has already introduced that it’s prepared for an electoral alliance with the Congress. The Congress nevertheless, thus far, has maintained that its central management would take a closing name on the problem.
Mr. Raja mentioned that the Left didn’t have any hesitation in a tie-up up with the Congress and that now was now up to the Congress to be part of forces with the Left. He mentioned that the Congress wanted to introspect on its ideological, political and economical insurance policies. “They should not succumb to the ideological bullying of the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party). The current soft Hindutva line will not work. They have to take genuine secular positions and reintroduce the Nehruvian line of thought within their party,” Mr. Raja added.
There have been murmurs that the Congress, with 44 seats, needs to take a management place in the alliance, since in the current West Bengal Assembly, the social gathering far exceeded the entire energy of the Left, which stands at 32 seats. However, although the vote share of Left events put collectively was 26% in the final Assembly elections, the Congress obtained a bit over 12% of votes.
“The Congress must be realistic and reasonable. It can not live the illusion of the past. Even in Bihar, everyone admits that the Congress should not have been given 70 seats,” Mr. Raja mentioned.
He mentioned that pointless controversy is being stoked over whether or not the BJP or TMC (Trinamool Congress) was the important thing political adversary in the upcoming Assembly election. “To fight the BJP, it is only imperative that the TMC is defeated. After all, the BJP in West Bengal is entirely made up of ex-TMC leaders. West Bengal needs change and it can be provided by the Left alone,” Mr. Raja mentioned.
It had been 9 years for the reason that Left authorities was thrown out of energy by Mamata Banerjee in 2011, and Mr .Raja mentioned that in the interregnum interval, the Left too had learnt from its errors.
