Coronavirus | Karnataka imposes lockdown for 14 days starting from May 10

Industries, motels, pubs and bars will stay closed whereas public transport and taxis will keep off the roads.
With the COVID-19 second wave wreaking havoc in Karnataka and the present curfew measures ineffective in containing the pandemic, the State Government on Friday determined to impose a complete lockdown from 6 a.m. on May 10 to six a.m. on May 24.
After holding a two-hour lengthy assembly with officers and (*10*) earlier within the day, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa introduced the lockdown measures whereas permitting individuals to purchase important gadgets from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the course of the two-week lockdown interval.
All outlets promoting fruits, milk, groceries, greens, meat and fish are allowed to open in the course of the four-hour window within the morning.
All industries, motels, pubs and bars will stay closed. Inter-district motion of individuals wouldn’t be allowed, barring medical emergencies.
The Chief Minister mentioned all public transport companies, together with the BMTC and metro trains in Bengaluru and KSRTC throughout the State, will stay shut. All taxis, together with auto rickshaws, will stay off the roads.
(*14*), the federal government had imposed COVID-19 curfew from April 27 to May 12. These measures will stay efficient until May 9.
