The West Bengal authorities on Saturday introduced a complete lockdown from Sunday until May 30 as a way to comprise the unfold of COVID-19 within the State.

“We are taking some strict measures to contain the pandemic, starting Sunday 6 am till 6 pm of May 30,” Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay mentioned.
During this era, all authorities and personal workplaces, purchasing complexes, malls, bars, sports activities complexes, pubs and wonder parlours will stay closed, he mentioned.
Movement of personal autos, taxis, buses, metro rail, suburban trains will even be disallowed in the course of the 15- day lockdown interval.
“Petrol pumps will remain open and essential services like milk, water, medicine, electricity, fire, law and order and media will not come under the purview of it,” he added.
E-commerce and residential supply providers will probably be allowed.
