Drivers given ₹759 crore under Vahana Mitra

Minister for Civil Supplies Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao stated that the YSRCP authorities has disbursed ₹759 crore in the direction of the YSR Vahana Mitra scheme in three phases benefiting lakhs of auto-rickshaw and cab drivers throughout the State.
Mr. Rao, together with Collector J. Nivas and different elected representatives, attended the launch programme by way of video-conference and handed over cheques amounting to ₹26.35 crore to the district administration for disbursal of ₹10,000 every to 26,358 drivers within the district on Tuesday.
The Minister stated that the federal government launched the scheme in 2019 to fulfil the promise of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy made to drivers of cabs and auto-rickshaws throughout his padayatra.
He stated the monetary assist of ₹10,000 to the drivers will assist them meet necessities like automobile upkeep and insurance coverage.
Collector Mr. Nivas stated that there are 26,358 beneficiaries within the district and 4,622 of them are new beneficiaries. He stated the Gannavaram Assembly constituency has 2,522 beneficiaries, the best within the district.
