Ex-Manipur MLA escapes unhurt in attack on house

High-profile former MLA Sapam Kunjakishor aka Keba and his relations escaped unhurt in a hand grenade and automated gun attack on his house in Imphal west district on Tuesday evening.
Police sources stated a case had been registered and efforts have been on to arrest the attackers.
Police stated that some car-borne individuals hurled a China-made hand-grenade at his house at 8 p.m. As it didn’t explode, they opened fireplace from automated weapons and escaped in the automobiles.
Police and bomb specialists rushed to the spot and safely eliminated the grenade for disposal. So far no insurgent outfit has claimed duty for the attack.
