Govt. vaccination centres to now cater to 18+ citizens

The Health division on Wednesday introduced that the primary dose of COVID vaccination for 18+ age group could be administered at Government COVID Vaccination Centres (GCVCs). The jabs will probably be given in each city and rural areas of the State.
There was heavy demand for administering jabs to the youthful inhabitants at GCVCs because the centres catered solely to folks aged above 30 years till now. And there have been sporadic vaccination drives by company hospitals in rural localities. Besides, one had to shell out ₹780 to ₹1,410 for one dose, relying on the vaccine model.
Director of Public Health G. Srinivasa Rao stated the primary dose for 18+ inhabitants will probably be administered at 100 GCVCs in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area, 204 centres in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and 636 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in rural areas.
While slots have to be booked on CoWIN to get the vaccine on the GCVCs in GHMC space and ULBs, the 636 rural PHCs can have walk-in possibility.
Dr Srinivasa Rao stated the association will apply until July 3.
Covishield hole
People who took first dose of Covishield and had been planning to get the second dose instantly after finishing 12 weeks can have to wait somewhat longer. Dr Srinivasa stated that the second dose of Covishield will probably be given 14-16 weeks after the primary one.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on May 13 that the interval between two doses of Covishield was elevated to 12-16 weeks. However, the interval is pushed to 14-16 weeks by the State Health division in Telangana.
In mid-June, officers from the division stated round 35 lakh folks had been due for his or her second dose of COVID vaccines in July.
