The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has arrange a centre to develop modern adaption methods to address climate change.
The Global water and climate adaptation centre, being established with help from German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), was nearly inaugurated on Wednesday.
The institute will host the primary hub with a satellite tv for pc hub on the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok.
The German institutes of Technical University of Dresden and RWTH Aachen University, are collaborators and the Centre is called ABCD (Aachen-Bangkik-Chennai- Dresden).

The institute has proposed to provide a joint international M Sc programme on water safety and international change. A joint doctoral analysis programme to promote inter-disciplinary work and produce novel data to deal with water safety below international partnering institutes has additionally been launched.
Mr. Sannasiraj mentioned, “This centre will contribute significantly to the hydrodynamic, wave and morpho-dynamics modelling capabilities of IIT Madras” and complement the institute’s experience on adaptation and rehabilitation measures of coastal infrastructure.
