Finding lapses with the previous regime and writing letters to the Centre would not help the people of Andhra Pradesh. A crucial project which has a potential to irrigate every acre in the State is now hanging fire,” stated Mr Naidu.

National challenge
He stated the Polavaram was declared a nationwide challenge in 2014, which means that the Central authorities would offer the funds whereas the State authorities will execute the work.
He stated taking into account the previous file of 16 nationwide tasks executed in 10 States had taken 30 to 50 years for completion, the Union Cabinet had given the duty of executing the Polavaram challenge to the State authorities.
