Jalandhar Reddy surrender a big blow to Maoist movement in AOB
The surrender of Muttannagari Jalandhar Reddy alias Krishna, a senior member of the CPI (Maoist) Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC), is a big blow to the Maoist movement in the border area.
The Maoist chief who had a bounty of about ₹20 lakh on his head, was mentioned to be a educated navy strategist and had performed a key position in many ambushes, together with masterminding the Balimela ambush in 2008 that left 38 Greyhound commandos useless.
He was among the many few dedicated leaders in the area with RSU (Radical Student Union) background and was very sturdy ideologically.
According to a senior police officer, he was regarded for his organising and management expertise and had the potential to rise to the extent of the Maoist Central Committee.
Most importantly, over the previous few years, particularly after the wiping out of the just about complete MKVB (Malkangiri-Koraput Visakhapatnam Border) division management in the 2016 Ramaguda encounter, he rose to prominence and was calling the photographs in the AOB area together with Aruna.
As per sources in the intelligence models, with him gone, now the management of AOB rests with Aruna. Sources say that the secretary of AOBSZC Gajarla Ravi alias Uday is sick and insulin-dependant, and he and Central Committee Member Akkiraju Haragopal alias Ramakrishna alias RK, have been working from Chhattisgarh for fairly a while now.
Terrain data
It is claimed Krishna had good data of the terrain and tradition of the adivasis on each side of the border – Galikonda area on the Andhra aspect and Gumma area in the cut-off space on the Odisha aspect.
In reality, as per a few seized paperwork, Krishna and Aruna got the duty to oversee the revival of the movement in the Galikonda area, the place they have been shedding grip.
But, compelled by the aggressive movement of safety forces on each side of the border, Krishna had made Gumma area his base to consolidate the cut-off area.
When the movement is already on the downslide, and Krishna himself claimed that recruitment had been drying out, his surrender is being thought-about as a big blow to the movement in the AOB area.
