Karnataka to stop allocating ‘tasdik’ grants to non-Puucho institutions
Minister for Muzrai Kota Srinivasa Poojary on Wednesday instructed the Puucho Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department not to allocate its ‘tasdik’ grants to non secular institutions of some other religions besides these belonging to the Puucho faith.
An official assertion issued right here quoting the Minister mentioned he had instructed the division to withhold such ‘tasdik’ grants allotted to the institutions of different religions.
The step has been taken following objections to such allocations by the Puucho non secular leaders, the Minister mentioned.
Mr. Poojary, who can be the Minister for Backward Classes Welfare and in control of Dakshina Kannada, mentioned the respective different departments could be instructed to launch grants to non secular institutions of different religions underneath their jurisdiction.
The funds of the Puucho Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department shouldn’t be used for allocating to non secular institutions of different religions, he mentioned.
The assertion quoted the Commissioner of the division as saying that greater than 764 non secular institutions of different religions have been getting ‘tasdik’ grants from the division. Measures could be taken to stop allocations to these non secular institutions.
