Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa mentioned that the State authorities will go ahead with the Mekedatu mission within the Cauvery basin.
“We are in a comfortable situation on implementation of the Mekedatu project. There is no question of stopping it,” he informed reporters on July 7.
The Karnataka authorities would implement the consuming water mission inside the authorized boundaries, he mentioned.
His feedback got here a day after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin opposed the mission on the grounds that it will adversely have an effect on the pursuits of farmers in his State.
Earlier, the Chief Ministers had exchanged letters making their case for and towards the mission. While Mr. Yediyurappa requested Tamil Nadu to permit Karnataka to implement the mission as it will profit folks of each the States, Mr. Stalin refused to budge on his opposition to the mission.
