Kerala government sanctions ₹50 lakh as immediate relief for houses destroyed in rain fury in Alappuzha

Disaster Management Department earlier sanctioned ₹3.5 lakh every to 6 taluks for working relief camps in the district
The government has sanctioned ₹50 lakh in the direction of immediate compensation for houses destroyed or broken in rain fury in the district earlier this month.
The fund was allotted by the Disaster Management Department. Ambalappuzha taluk has been offered ₹10 lakh. The different 5 taluks — Cherthala, Karthikappally, Mavelikara, Chengannur and Kuttanad — obtained ₹8 lakh every.
Earlier, the division sanctioned ₹3.5 lakh every to 6 taluks for working relief camps. Officials mentioned the district administration had sought additional help of ₹3.5 crore from the government.
Heavy rains, sturdy winds and coastal erosion have left a path of destruction in the district. As per the official evaluation, not less than 29 houses had been destroyed and 653 houses broken in six taluks. The Ambalappuzha taluk bore the brunt of the adversarial climate, the place 13 houses had been destroyed and 374 others suffered harm. In Karthikappally, 4 houses had been destroyed and 125 others had been broken.
In Kuttanad, 5 houses had been destroyed and 55 others had been broken. At least six houses had been destroyed and 52 broken in Cherthala. In Mavelikara, one home was destroyed and 31 others had been broken, whereas 16 houses suffered harm in Chengannur. The complete loss was pegged at ₹4.48 crore.
The preliminary loss suffered by numerous sectors in the district because of the rain fury was estimated at ₹30 crore. Apart from large harm to property, paddy cultivation in 477 hectares obtained washed away and vegetable cultivation in 787.84 hectares was destroyed. The agriculture sector suffered harm to the tune of ₹14.89 crore. Besides, the fisheries sector suffered a lack of ₹4.26 crore.
