Landslip near Silathoranam at Tirumala
[ad_1]
The outer ring highway that’s nearing completion right here on Thursday skilled a large landslip a few hundred metres away from Silathoranam, the pure rock arch formation.
The incessant rains that pounded the hill city until a few days again are believed to have loosened/eroded the soil beneath the rocky formations and triggered the landslide.
Huge chunks of earth together with big boulders fell on the highway from a top of 25-30 ft. Fortunately, there have been no casualties because the incident reportedly came about within the early hours.
The engineering personnel engaged an earthmover to clear the particles.
