”A low pressure area could be very likely to type over the southeast Arabian Sea round May 14 morning. It could be very likely to transfer north-northwestwards throughout southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep area and intensify progressively. It could intensify into a cyclonic Storm over east central Arabian Sea round May 16 and proceed to transfer north-northwestwards,” the IMD stated in Tuesday afternoon climate replace.
Lakshadweep has been placed on yellow alert for remoted heavy rainfall on May 13 and orange alert for remoted heavy to extraordinarily heavy rainfall on May 14 and May 15. IMD has warned that ”tidal wave of about one metre top above the astronomical tide could be very likely to inundate low-lying areas of Lakshadweep on May 15 and 16.”

Orange alerts for remoted heavy to very heavy rainfall have been issued for Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts of Kerala on May 14. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts have been placed on orange alert on May 15.
