Maharashtra, Karnataka stop COVID-19 jabs for 18-44 age group
Having run out of vaccine shares, the Karnataka and Maharashtra governments on Wednesday introduced that vaccination for these within the 18-44 age group can be suspended briefly and precedence can be given for second dose in all authorities vaccination centres from May 14 until additional orders.
The Maharashtra Cabinet on Wednesday determined to pause the COVID-19 vaccination drive for people within the 18 to 44 years age group for time being. The authorities has determined to prioritise these above 45 whose second dose is due.
Karnataka, having run out of vaccine shares for 45 years and above, introduced on Wednesday that vaccination for the 18 to 44 age group (together with those that have already booked appointments) can be briefly suspended in all authorities vaccination centres from May 14 until additional orders.
