Manna Abraham travelled with the ‘biggest show on earth’ as a travelling trainer for eight years
Not each trainer will get a jumbo group hug. But Mary Abraham, a.{k}.a. Manna Abraham, obtained one, actually, when she bid farewell to her work as a ‘travelling teacher’ with The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus within the US, promoted because the ‘biggest show on earth’.

“I had no idea of what it would entail when I applied for the post of a ‘travelling teacher’. Little did I think it would be with a circus, perhaps the largest in the world,” remembers Chennai-based Manna.

The adventurous Manna had left for the US for a break in 2001 after placing in her papers at a faculty in Kuwait. She was working in a faculty within the US when she got here throughout an commercial for a ‘travelling teacher’.

The newly-appointed trainer was given a room to herself with a minuscule kitchen and an connected tub on a mile-long practice, the longest, privately owned one within the US. Whenever the practice stopped in a metropolis for a present, Mary would maintain her lessons in a room or an area allotted for her on the enviornment. She recounts how she would full her lesson plans and prep for the lessons whereas they have been travelling. There have been youngsters who spoke totally different languages and not all of them understood English, the medium of instruction. Manna would request older college students who spoke a smattering of their native language to assist youngsters perceive directions. At some locations, Manna organised an exhibition and put up the work the kids had accomplished in the course of the class hours. She was anticipated to take care of their books, faculty work and different school-related issues.
