Markets in Thrissur to remain open from Tuesday
Retail outlets to operate from 8.30 a.m. to 12 midday
Markets in Thrissur metropolis will remain open from Tuesday.
Shops in predominant markets, together with Sakthan Market, Jaihind Market, Ariyangadi, and Nayarangadi, will operate in strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocol, Revenue Minster K. Rajan mentioned.
A choice in this regard was taken following talks between representatives of merchants’ organisations and elected representatives. The merchants agreed to preserve pointers issued by the district administration.
Accordingly, wholesale outlets will operate from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. and stores from 8.30 a.m. to 12 midday.
Fish and meat markets will operate solely three days per week. They will open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Fish and meat outlets in containment zones, which got permission to open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, can now operate on Mondays too. However, avenue distributors won’t be allowed to do enterprise.
Drivers of vehicles transporting items from different States in addition to headload staff ought to take satisfactory security measures. While small outlets can have simply two staff, huge ones can interact three, together with the proprietor.
COVID-19 screening will likely be held in markets. Antigen exams will likely be completed on 500 individuals on Monday.
