The State authorities will fund the development of a memorial for the late Railway Minister and BJP chief Suresh Angadi on the place of his burial in New Delhi.
“We have decided to have a memorial for the late leader be built in New Delhi. I will release the funds. I will ensure that officers seek and obtain approvals,” Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa mentioned in Belagavi on Wednesday. He mentioned the memorial will come up on the Veerashaiva burial floor in Kailash in New Delhi.
He was chatting with journalists on the Sambra airport on Wednesday, earlier than shifting to the house of Mr. Suresh Angadi to fulfill the bereaved household.
“It is difficult to believe that Mr. Angadi is no more. He was a very well behaved, polite leader. He had long-time connections with his voters. He also did a remarkable job as Railway Minister. I have told him several times that he was doing very good work on the lines of what Jaffer Sharief (former Railway Minister and Congress leader ) did to Karnataka,” Mr. Yediyurappa mentioned.
“Mr .Angadi was a wholesome man and his confidence about his well being might have betrayed him. He was affected by fever, however he uncared for it. Even after reaching Delhi, he didn’t get himself examined in time. That might have affected his well being badly,’’ the Chief Minister mentioned.
Mr.Yediyurappa refused to touch upon the Goa authorities deciding to file a contempt petition in opposition to Karnataka over the Mahadayi water challenge.
Later, on the Angadi residence, Mr. Yediyurappa spoke to the late Minister’s mom Somavva, spouse Mangala, daughters and different relations. Minister for Heavy Industries Jagadish Shettar, who is said to the Angadis, and Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai accompanied him.
