Mr. Patnaik, on the event, stated the initiative, for which the state is spending ₹1,300 crore, will likely be prolonged in a phased-manner to different districts.
The Chief Minister additionally gave assurances that every one households in the urban areas of the State could have piped water amenities by March 2022. He expressed satisfaction over the Water Corporation of Odisha (WATCO) taking on the job of coaching plumbers in the state.

By March 2022, all households in all urban areas could have the connection. The Drink from Tap Mission will likely be executed in 15 cities, benefitting over 15 lakh folks, the CM added.
United Kingdom-based NGO Water Aids CEO Tim Wainwright, who joined the launch programme over a video convention, lauded the Odisha authorities for its initiative.
Mr. Wainwright stated he would provide all doable help to the coastal State’s new project.
