BJP State president Nalin Kumar Kateel has denied that the get together was attempting for a change of Chief Minister.
“There have been no meetings on this issue. The issue was not discussed in any meeting. B.S. Yediyurappa will complete his term. There are no plans for change,” he instructed journalists in Haveri.
He was responding to claims by farmers’ chief Lingaraj Patil that the BJP had thought of making former Union Minister late Suresh Angadi the following Chief Minister. Mr. Patil, who spoke in Belagavi earlier, is Angadi’s uncle.
The BJP was significantly contemplating making Mr. Angadi the following Chief Minister, Mr Patil stated. “Senior leaders had held a collection of conferences for the previous few months. They had been planning to make him the following Chief Minister. If all had gone nicely, he would have change into the Chief Minister in 4-5 months. But destiny had different plans,’’Mr. Patil instructed journalists at Angadi’s home.
“Angadi was an influential Lingayat chief and was non-controversial. He had labored arduous as Railway Minister and had earned reward from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others,’’ he stated.
Mr. Kateel strongly denied this. He stated there have been no such conferences.
