No coercive steps against lawyer: AP HC

Justice Raghunandan Rao of Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday handed a route instructing National Investigation Agency (NIA) to not take coercive steps against lawyer V. Raghunath practising at Telangana High Court.
Recently, NIA searched the home of Mr. Raghunath, who can also be Telangana Civil Liberties Committee State vice-president, in Dilsukhnagar right here on suspicion that he had hyperlinks with Maoist. The officers issued notices to the lawyer on completion of searches having seized some materials from his home.
Meanwhile, Mr. Raghunath filed a writ petition within the Andhra Pradesh High Court looking for quashing of the prison proceedings initiated against him by the NIA officers.
The courtroom handed route to not take any coercive steps against the lawyer until additional orders.
