A group of income officers seized 4 bullock carts engaged in unlawful mining of sand from Sankarabarani river close to Villianur.
The group was led by Villianur Sub-Collector A. Asvin Chandru, SP R. Lokeshwaran and Tahsildar {K}.P. Sreejith.
The officers seized the carts with 15 a great deal of sand mined from the river mattress in Konnerikuppam. An FIR has been filed on this connection underneath Section 379 of the IPC and Section 21 (1) of the Mines and Minerals Act.
