Delhi haul
In August, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested eight individuals with 504 gold bars weighing 83.62 kg value ₹43 crore on the New Delhi railway station. They had been on board the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express.
The gold bars had been smuggled in from Myanmar by way of Manipur, by way of a Guwahati-based syndicate and had been destined for main cities like Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai for disposal.
