Excerpts from The Hindu’s interview with him:
You have been a medical practitioner. What introduced you to politics?
My father was three-time MP and even my uncle was in politics. However, as a postgraduate in radiology, I centered on the medical subject. But my service of sufferers endeared me to individuals, who inspired me to enter public life. Of course, my entry into politics just isn’t sudden as I’ve engaged in social service, together with the refurbishing of presidency hospitals, strengthening infrastructure in authorities colleges, and offering secure ingesting water, for about 4 years.
Your father was an MP from the Congress. Why did you select the BJP?
I’ve been influenced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a very long time. The BJP was a pure selection for ideological causes.
But there was resistance to your candidature from throughout the BJP native unit?
There was some resistance in the start as two different leaders have been making an attempt to get ticket. But after the social gathering’s high management selected me, they are all supporting and campaigning for me.
What are the primary ballot points in Sira?
Development is the primary agenda. This constituency is underdeveloped although it’s represented by senior leaders. It wants give attention to growth of infrastructure such as roads and ingesting water. Also, there’s a dire must create irrigation amenities in this parched constituency.
What is your plan for the event of the constituency?
I’ve ready a blueprint for complete growth. This consists of laying roads, offering ingesting water and filling up Madaluru tank with Hemavati waters. This may also assist enhance the groundwater desk. I want to give attention to industrial growth as properly, in order that kids discover employment. I can get them applied by means of our authorities in the State.
You are taking up a veteran chief such as T.B. Jayachandra from the Congress and the spouse of a distinguished grassroots chief like Sathyanarayana from the JD(S). Also, the BJP is but to register any ballot victory right here thus far. Is it not a tricky battle?
No. My preliminary marketing campaign tour has proven that individuals right here are aspiring for a change as they want growth. Since the BJP is in energy at each the Centre and the State, growth might be achieved solely by means of this social gathering.
