Railway orders suspension of wrestler Sushil Kumar

The Northern Railway issued an order on Tuesday suspending wrestler Sushil Kumar following his arrest by the Delhi Police in a homicide case.
Olympic medallist Kumar was arrested, alongside along with his affiliate and co-accused Ajay, from outer Delhi’s Mundka space on May 23 for his alleged involvement within the loss of life of a 23-year-old wrestler at Chhatrasal Stadium.

“Now, therefore Sushil Kumar JAG/ (Adhoc) IRTS is deemed to have been suspended with effect from the date of detention i.e. 23rd May, 2021 in terms of Rule 5 (2) of (D&A) Rules, 1968 and shall remain under suspension until further orders,” Northern Railway spokesperson Deepak Kumar stated.
