Rajnath Singh lauds India, Sweden ties in defence production

There is lot of scope for Swedish and Indian defence industries for co-production and co-development and Indian trade may provide parts to Swedish industries, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated on Tuesday.
“On behalf of Government of India, I would like to extend an invitation to a delegation at highest level from Sweden to India and have a glimpse of Indian defence industries and defence industry corridors,” Mr. Singh stated at an India-Sweden defence trade webinar.
Welcoming the latest understanding by India and European Union to renew negotiations on a free commerce settlement, Swedish Defence Minister Peter Hultqvist stated one space with potential for deepening defence trade cooperation was amongst Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) companies.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the course of the occasion between Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers and Swedish Security and Defence Industry Association to advertise bilateral defence industrial relations.
