Retired trainer, wife hacked to death in Wayanad in Kerala
Police say the incident follows what seems to be a housebreaking try by two individuals who had their faces lined
An aged couple was hacked to death at Nelliyambam close to Panamaram in Wayanad district on Thursday evening following what seems to be a housebreaking try by two individuals. The diseased had been recognized as Kesavan (75), a retired trainer, and wife Padmavathy (70).
According to the police, the incident occurred round 8.30 p.m. on Thursday when the duo was alone in the home. Their family close by rushed to the spot upon listening to Padmavathy’s loud cries for assist. Kesavan was discovered lifeless in a pool of blood and Padmavathy had sustained severe accidents. She instructed the family that they had been attacked by two individuals who had their faces lined with masks.
Though Padmavathy was admitted to the Government Medical College hospital at Mananthavady, she succumbed to her accidents round 4.30 a.m. on Friday.
Senior police officers, together with Wayanad district police chief Aravind Sukumar, together with forensic consultants later reached the crime scene.
“Prima facie, it appears to be a case of murder for gain. However, we have begun a probe,” the police
stated.
