Demanding a rise in the per litre worth of milk for dairy farmers, the Left-affiliated All-India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) has alleged that milk farmers got a uncooked deal by personal and co-operative milk unions who minimize prices by claiming a low demand for milk throughout the pandemic-induced lockdown.

It must take stern action against these cooperatives and recover the amount looted by them and return it back to the farmers,” stated Dr. Ajit Nawale of the AIKS.
He urged the federal government to make the anti-looting legislation relevant to personal and co-operative milk unions in order that milk producers couldn’t be looted in future. “Like sugarcane growers, milk producers, too, should be given fair and remunerative price (FRP),” stated Dr. Nawale.
