Shivamogga airport will be operational by next June: BSY

Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa has stated the Shivamogga airport, arising at Sogane village, will be operational by next June.
Speaking to presspersons at Sogane in Shivamogga taluk after reviewing the progress, the CM stated the State authorities will make sure the completion of the undertaking regardless of the monetary constraints of the State.
“The airport will boost economic activities in the districts in the central part of the State. Youths will get jobs and these districts will get investment,” he stated.
Officers did a presentation on the airport arising. The construction resembles a lotus, the image of the BJP. The contract of the undertaking, taken up with an estimated value of ₹384 crore, has been awarded in two packages.
Under bundle 1, building of the runway, embankment, strategy street, inside roads, compound wall, and different works had been taken up. The building of the 11,500m compound building had been accomplished.
The works beneath the second bundle, which embody building of passenger terminal, ATC tower, electrical substation, fireplace station, watchtower, pump home, water tanks, are but to start out.
During the inspection, the CM was accompanied by Minister for Urban Development B.A. Basavaraj, MP B.Y. Raghavendra, and senior officers of the district administration.
